Ingeborg's father, Hans Petter Hagen, is described as a mild and kind person. Since he died too early, we might think that the loss gave the memory of him this "halo" - but everything we hear, is evidence of his kindness.

Possibly the best recommendation was given by his mother-in-law. She said on her deathbed:

"Thanks for everything. Hans has not said one word that hurt me during all these years I've been living with you."
