Mitja Bulba visits Nes!
March 13th, 1937 the Nes worker's choir had a prominent guest: all the way from Russia came the actor Mitja Bulba to recite poems at their concert. A foreigner in a tiny, Norwegian town in the 1930s was a sensation, and the performance attracted a huge audience.
But "the Russian actor" was -- Ingeborg Refling Hagen! She had a false beard, which barely stayed on till the end of the performance, and a leather jacket. The diary reads: (From unpublished diary) |
