Fredheim
Fredheim, Ingeborg's home, could house "everyone who has a sleeping bag". As more people realised what Ingeborg could teach them, the household grew as students came to live, read and study at Fredheim. Everyone got involved in publishing, acting, making paper flowers... Especially children loved flower making. The Czech Petr Klásterský came to Fredheim to recover from an illness. He wrote: "A few days later I was caught by the net of common tasks (impossible to resists, even if I had wanted to) and when my wife arrived a couple of days before Christmas, she found me painting theatre sets in the middle of the night. If it didn't exactly help my physical recovery is was excellent psychologically.." (From Festskrift til Ingeborg Refling Hagen) Ingeborg hired artists to decorate the walls and doors of Fredheim. This picture shows the wall above the Bible shelf. The portrait shows Ingeborg's mother Johanne, painting by Birigit Abrahamsen. |
